UTAC has two main goals: to fundraise for our cause and to raise awareness for our cause; especially to young adults, a group that is at high risk for HIV infection. And we’ve come up with one way that we can do both of those at the same time: a Halloween Costume Charity event!
Our team currently has four wonderful members in their 20s, so we put our heads together to try to come up with something that we and our friends would love to do that we could dedicate to our fight against HIV/AIDS. We all love to get dressed up for Halloween and go out dancing; so what better way to bring people together for a great cause than a Costume Contest?!
Slide SF (near Union Square) will be hosting this fun party this Thursday, and they have agreed to donate a portion of the drink proceeds to us, based on the number of people that come in costume. UTAC’s official party will be from 8pm to 10pm, when we will conduct our runway costume contest and have complimentary cocktails sponsored by Los Osuna Tequila. Before 10pm, the cover charge is donation based. We recommend a $10 donation, but any amount is greatly appreciated! We’ll just be happy to see you there!
Fashion show producer, Charleston Pierce, has helped us produce this fabulous event and will be hosting the costume contest!
I don’t know about you, but I would want to attend this event simply because it sounds like a great time; it’s just an added bonus that I get to support an amazing cause at the same time!
I already have my costume laid out in anticipation, but I’m keeping it a secret so no one tries to copy it! 😉 Can’t wait to see you there!
